Get to Know QUEENSLEY FELIX of OWN’s Houston Beauty
For those who are fans of Oprah Winfrey’s OWN network, get ready for a new show premiering TOMORROW(November 2nd) called Houston Beauty and one of their main stars, Queensley Felix, is sure to be a fan favorite! For some info on the show, Houston Beauty shines a light on the big dreams, big personalities and even bigger challenges of its students and staff. The Jemison Family has owned and operated Franklin Beauty School for over 98 years, making it one of the oldest beauty schools in the country. They run a tight ship, but they aren’t always prepared for what will walk through their doors. For many of their students, the stakes are high as they have major barriers to overcome in their lives. A cosmetology license would mean a whole new life for them—but only if they can overcome their personal struggles along the way. With the help of Ms. J and her staff, Franklin students are set on a path for success in both cosmetology and life.
Felix is a loud, bubbly, vivacious, fabulous and outspoken personality. With strong Nigerian-Moor roots, this Houston, TX born beauty is a multi-talented powerhouse set to take the world by storm! Felix is a singer/songwriter who started displaying her vocal chops at the tender age of 3, and who began performing at age 6. After a brief relocation to Atlanta, GA, Felix and her family returned to Houston during her teenage years. Felix is no stranger to the bright lights, having reached the Top 10 on BET‘s highly rated Sunday Best. This would be enough for the average up and coming artist, but Felix is anything but average. With a passion for fashion, hair and make-up, Felix is the owner of the on location business, Queen of the Crop Artistry, with which she has been making a great living for the past 9 years, specializing in custom made wigs for her growing clientele. Check out a sneak peek from Houston Beauty below before the series premiere tomorrow at 10/9c on OWN.
